The Array of May

7 things, in long blog post format:

This weekend we decided to take B3 to his first theater movie!  We were discussing this idea at 10am Saturday, then decided that early morning would be the best time to go, plus the theater would probably be more empty in case he got wild.  45 minutes later we were sitting in our seats for Angry Birds!!

The very top row, the very corner, JIC.

The theater was pretty full, but at least it was full with kidlets and their parents.  Never knew the theater is hoppin' at 10 in the morning.

So all was going well for the first hour, we even thought he might zonk out cuz he was in the zone and just glued to the screen.  Oh wow, what a freaking cute CHAMP, why have we not tried this before???  Well becuzzz an hour into it, he got hit with a 20 month old second wind and turned into wiggly magee.  He wanted to watch the movie like he does at home:  all over the place.

He missed the last twenty minutes when Ben took him out to run around, so I think we'll put a hold on a family movie date for a few more months.  Haha!  But it was fun while it lasted!  And I thought Angry Birds was funny!

& our weekend!

We made no plans for the weekend and it was just lovely!  Sometimes you need a weekend like that so I plan on us having another one this upcoming weekend too.  Holiday weekend!!

We went to Barnes & Noble (FAV), ran, drank Monster, swam,...

got fried (yeah oops), went to Costco,...

went on family walks in nice springy weather,...

laid in the hammock reading some more [while B3 took a FOUR HOUR NAP...?),...

(Finished my latest creepy crime book.  Pretty interesting case.  I should have been an investigator.)

...and hung with Ben's mom who came to visit!  Even church was good with ward conference and the choir singing my ever favorite song, "As Sister's in Zion/We'll Bring the World His Truth."  I think 1/2 the congregation came up to sing it.

While at B&N I was in the true crime section looking around for something intriguing.  After reading two recommended books this month, I have been on another true crime kick spree.  Plus I always am on a true crime spree and I explored the career option back in the day.  Anywho, I found one book by an author I like, M. William Phelps, called Sleep in Heavenly Peace, so I opened to the first picture and there the picture was taken of a crime scene in no other place but Safford, Arizona.  The small town we lived in five years ago that has like 8000 people (it neighbors Thatcher).  The town I trained for my first marathon in.  Yeah.  I try to avoid true crime that has to do with children because it's hard to keep those stories out of my "headspace" because of the level of evil/sadness, but Ben was familiar and I became intrigued, so TBC.

But I'm back to reading regularly, thank goodness.  It's the best hobby, well, besides running.  

I love weekends with my family!!

Our Weekend Plans

After working OT, running higher mileage, traveling, marathon-ing, wedding-ing and all with a toddler, I'm so exhausted.

This weekend we're swimming, reading, and doing nothing and I'm so excited!!!  #recharge  Hopefully the weather will cooperate.

My current book.  The Lululemon part had me intrigued and it's really interesting thus far.  I had never heard of the case?

B3 is so tired too, he's on carpet nap #2.  I thought carpet nap #1 would omit his regular afternoon nap, but no.  I adore him!

Alright...back to work.  Have a lovely weekend!

Wedding Bells

My brother got married last weekend!  It was a really great ceremony and fun to have the family all in town for it, literally our whole family!!  First time together in forever!!!  Five years ago I never ever would have thought that my baby brother would get married in Phoenix, so I'm so happy because he'll be close by.  I had visions of him reconnecting with somebody from the past and moving to somewhere like Provo to get married to them, even though he swore he was done with snow.  You never know with loooove.

They made a beautiful bride and groom!  They met at the temple, got engaged in the temple in the room they were going to be married in, then married in the temple, and Dil has been working there all along.

So the morning was pretty roasty, around 100 with a heat wave rolling through (hottest day of the year?), so we were sweating buckets during pictures, but the reception was perfect.  My sister was the wedding day photographer and I helped with picture ideas while simultaneously chasing down Cafe Rio who was a little late to the luncheon, then who showed up and started unloading at the temple itself.  haha  I was literally drenched in sweat, I had to wear something else to the reception!!  But it was awesome.

An awkward family photo:

Bentz is really into waving these days.  All day long he walked around and waved at everybody.  He's the only nephew for Emily and Dallin, and they have no nieces!   It's all just him.

How do you make a toddler smile on demand??  #whysoserious

He enjoyed organizing pine cones, golf balls, lemons, oranges, etc., which was great because he was so good allllll night!!  (And day too.  He was so exhausted and fell asleep before I left the parking after the luncheon.)

It was an awesome day and now they're celebrating in Cancun (jealous).  Here's to a happy life!

Baby boy is 20 Months

Our baby boy is 20 months and hardly a baby!!  I never imagined myself with a two year old and when I was pregnant I think I imagined myself with a baby and on up to like six months, so the fact that we're way passed that stage in life makes me realize that life is going to keeeeep going and Bentz will start remembering these days like I remember my own childhood (epic memories btw).

This week we moved my brother out and into his new apartment because homeboy ties the knot in less than 24 hours!  While they moved stuff, we played with the duckies.

Revel Mount Charleston Marathon!!

Ben went sub 1:30 and I went sub 4!!

Lots of words and lots of pictures because free pictures!!!

We drove out to Vegas the day before the race which usually takes around four hours, but this time I timed it just right so we hit Vegas at rush hour.  :P  We stopped at the community center that held the expo and then checked right in to Red Rock.  Traveling is exhausting so we didn't do much other than eat at CPK, set out our loads of stuff and zonk.
