15.5 Weeks - Baby #2

I did these every couple of weeks with B3 so I figured it was time to start them up with B3-junior!

My age: 32

How far along: 15 weeks 5 days

How big is baby: 4-1/2 inches-ish, avocado sized

What have you been up to:  Work is picking back up to the perfect amount of work/mommying and I am starting to be less grumpy/feel better during the daytime which I'm sure Ben is grateful for.  lol  It is so nice to like life again.

Exercise/Activity Level:  Not very good these days.  I did lots of walking during the first trimester and am starting to have better day times, so I went back to CrossFit a little bit ago!  But only once because my gym won't let me do a punch card this time (they don't do them anymore) and I don't want to do the only option of unlimited when how I am feeling is unpredictable.  Soooo I am going to try another CrossFit gym out that does punch cards and has daycare.

Maternity clothes:  Yes, from like day ONE I went stretchy pants, no holding out this time.

Stretch marks: No, I didn't get any with Bentz but I have a feeling I'll be bigger this time.  But then again, my mom never got any!

Belly Button: In

Sleep:  One word:  Unisom

Best Moment of the Week:  Having my mom in town for a week!  The best!!!  I'm sure she enjoyed her family/living/kitchen-room suite.  :D  Also having my family up for pizza at the pool.

Worst Moment of the Week:  The whole moving stress.  And taking iron pills.  My blood work showed I am pretty anemic and the iron pill makes me crazy nauseated on top of already being nauseated.  That is why you will always find bowls in our bed.  :D

Food cravings:  Fruit and sweets.

Food aversions:  Meat, smelly foods, etc.  I have loved LOVED those popping Boba you get at ice cream self serves and used to get more of them than ice cream, I swear, so I ordered me a bunch of containers of them.  They arrived a couple of days later and I can hardly look at them... it's the craziest thing.  I also cannot stand the smell of Tic-Tacs, which I used to always keep at my desk for B3.  Pregnancy is so crazy!

Symptoms:  Nausea, rib pain on the right side, bad skin, feeling large which shows I have clearly forgotten

Movement:  I don't know, possibly.  I try to notice it at night while laying in bed but my insides are kind of all over the place that I can't really distinguish what is what yet.  But I'm hoping soon.

Gender:  TBD next month

What I’m looking forward to:  Cheering my family on at Mt. Charleston next month, finding out the gender, finding a home to buy so I don't stress about sharing walls (with child-less people), getting into a fitness routine, feeling better.

What I’m nervous about/praying for:  I stressed about the anatomy scan, and everything.

What I miss:  All sushi,..I can't stand meat smell, but fishiness doesn't bother me at all.  RUNNING, I'm doing it vicariously through Ben who has been running a lot and rocking it.  He did 14 miles yesterday!

Next appointment:  Wednesday, 16 weeks

Temporary Buhr Headquarters

Our house is finally for freaking SALE!  Thus we are in a transition period, here:

It's been a few years, but apartment living is kind of fun.  The pools are heated (!!!), there's loads of green grass you don't have to water, you interact with more people on the daily, and so forth and on.  The only thing that I haven't enjoyed is hearing the people above us wake up at 5:00 and also the fact that we are living on top of each other in 800+ square feet and I'm afraid somebody is going to call the cops on me when B3 is in time out, BUT, hey hey! granite countertops and wood-ish floors!  ;)

Finding out we're pregnant. V.2.0

Alright, so the story about finding out we are pregnant and such, if it is considered a story!  And a bunch of prego rambling I'm sure.  I didn't know how it would be the second time around compared to the first when you have no idea what to expect, but once again it was totally surreal (still is)!  We had planned all along to qualify for Marathon Maniacs this past fall and attempt to run myself into a burnout (DIDN'T HAPPEN, but that's okay), then jump into trying for a baby brother or sister for the following year (2017) which would put three years between B3 and baby.

We keep referring to baby as brother, but we won't know until next month.

Anyways, hours after we got home from Christmas break in Utah, we hosted a house full of family for the week and it was a little hectic because I didn't know about it, so I was pretty stressed because I had planned to return to work and get caught up on life etc. etc.  But I was sooo stressed out/tired/grumpy that I decided to take a test because that's how I was when I first was prego with B3.  It immediately read not prego but you have to wait a couple of minutes, which I had forgotten that part, but a few minutes later I glanced down again and there were the double lines which were just as shocking as three years ago!!

So I took a bunch more tests the consecutive days and since Ben was in and out with his family, I didn't tell him.  lol

I jumped online and researched my possible due date and kept getting B3's birthday, which the doctor and later my first ultrasound confirmed.  I don't think we could have planned that had we tried -- that's crazy!  Baby will be early though, as I didn't opt for the VBAC.

I bought this cute shirt ^^ and one Friday Ben came home from work...

YES!!!  WAHOO!!!

So far it's been pretty much like my last pregnancy.  With Bentz I tried to stay positive because even when it was rough, I am always grateful to be pregnant.  Honestly, if I wasn't sick again, I would stress that things aren't going well!!  The problem with staying positive during my first pregnancy, however, is I wrote NONE of the negatives down in detail thus I have no idea my timeline of events or how long I can expect to feel like an angry barfing monster.

Speaking of angry barfing monster, I haven't run in two months and although I have missed it and the goals SO MUCH, I have absolutely no desire to run right now.  It is nauseating and not a lot of fun.  Soon baby will be big enough that my doctor recommends I go low-impact at that point, so I will take up Crossfit again here shortly and do that for the remainder of growing my bump.

Now speaking of bump, I would say that I wasn't any bigger during the first trimester this time around, but overnight I have had a bump show up enough that a [daring] lady asked if I was prego.  I still think I'm in the chubby looking phase though.  (Let's be honest, that phase won't go away for at least the next 6 months.  Or 7.  8.  10.)

^^ Probably my last selfie in the guest bath of our beautiful home going up for sale this weekend.  All the baby Bentley memories were made here.  Bittersweet for sure!  (And we get a glimpse into pool weather this week.  It's insanely May feeling around here.)

Life Lately...

I don't really know where to start with the past few months since I'm so behind!  I hadn't even finished Christmas!  But how about some random tidbits about lately...

The piano has been my sanity these past few months!!!  That and long morning walks in the cool air.  There have been days where I have spent hours upon hours playing the piano (which both Bentz and Rykar enjoy so that's helpful).  When I'm early pregnant I can't read, computer, use my phone, etc. because the movement makes me sick, but the piano has a way of distracting me.  Work has been quite slow too, which has been both a blessing yet a curse.

(I always take selfies and send them to Ben throughout the day.)

I'm not running right now, but there are weeks we walk 20 miles or so.

Our weather has been freezing, then so nice, and we've also had so much rain!  It's been a real mixed bag but that's kind of nice because it makes me excited for warmer weather and swimming.

Valentine's Day Ben brought home some delicious surprises!!

I've had a couple of doctor's appointments and Bentz gets to come along for the ride.  Life is crazy, three years ago I was doing this with him in my belly.

I read blog posts from when I was pregnant last time and it is funny to see the similar dinners and meals I've had.  We stopped Blue Apron awhile ago because my nose is crazy, and have replaced it with low carb, healthy options like white rice, bread, waffles, WATERMELON,...

Lucky Charm's shakes:

We had quite the house full over the race weekend which was fun.  Jolie got to stay in the shoe room and she read the little Bmeister some books.  :)

I have mastered Mater on the Doodle Maker.  (These are important tidbits.)  I am asked to draw him at least 25 times every day.

I have acquired some amazing shoes these days (shoes are always fun to buy, even when your numbers are increasing on the scale).

Bentz has been napping in his big boy bed for awhile now.  It gives him freedom to sometimes do what he wants, like lay down on the bottom shelf of his changing table instead.

And WE'RE MOVING!!!!

Not to this house, we wish that we were moving here.  :P  ^^

We found another house we wanted to put an offer in on and after some conversation we decided that we probably should sell ours first so we are free to buy what we want, less risk.  The easiest way to do that is probably to just move out first... soooo.... we are moving...

this weekend.  1/2 a mile away into a 1 bedroom place.  It's going to be kind of like camping and I'm excited!  Hopefully we can find us a home before this little baby arrives.  That is the risk we are taking, but at least it's not monetary.

This is the first time we've hired movers, so I'm not dreading it so much.  But I am dreading saying goodbye to our first, beautiful home that I have LOVED these past four years.  Such a gamble, but I think we're making the right decision.  Same schools, church, running routes, etc., just a different house and a slightly different neighborhood.

My Family's Mesa-Phoenix Half Marathon

Last weekend my family all came into town for the Phoenix Marathon (half)!  We get together a few times a year to run races together (SLC, Phoenix, Revel, etc.) and they are always epic weekends that go by so fast.

Considering I've not been feeling well, my last run was PF Chang's in January.  I am still cleared to run!, but my stomach also clears if I run.  :P  SOOOO this time I decided to sit it out with my baby boy and my loaf of bread, and cheer!

Which meant it was time to share the baby news because...it's kind of obvious.

We had a big crew this year:  Ben, my dad, brothers, friend Matt, sister in law (her first), sister, my mother in-law, and my brother in-law Joe (his first too).  This race brings out a lot of local friends too, so it's just fun.

Bentz was wearing his "only child EXPIRED 2017" shirt and nobody noticed for the longest time!  haha

Ben's goal was 1:30-35 as he's working towards a new PR in April (he wants a 1:27), and he came in at 1:31:06 and ran a 40:xx last 10k (pace 6:33), which I think is his fastest 10k split he's run!  Everybody had great races, I mean the weather was running perfection.

My coach and his wife both BQd this day too, so it was a great day for everyone.  I can't wait until next year!
