Marathon Training Questions V6.0

As we get closer to race day, my mind turns borderline obsessed with all things running.  :P  We're one month + a day from race day and today I even started laying out my clothes.  Be honest, am I too much???

1. What's your favorite type of running shoe?
For the past three years it's been the Saucony Triumph ISO for long, and Saucony Kinvara for <1/2 marathon.  #runningonclouds  I think I might reevaluate after this latest pair because my love falls on an old model that is becoming harder to buy.

2: Do you run to music?
Yes!!  And I only listen to my running playlist while actually running so I don't get sick of it.


3: Do you run in a gym or outdoors?
Outdoors or on my own treadmill when it's dark or I need downhill miles.

4: Do you bring a sports drink or water out with you when you run?
I just started doing this.  I fill my hydration pack bladder with water and then bring Gatorade in one of the bottles.
Which, by the way, the best thing I have done for my running lately is buy my hydration pack!!!

5: How many miles can you run without breaking?
I do not know this.

6: Do you prefer long, mid or short distance running?
Long, hands down.  Double digits.

7: How long have you been running?
Junior High, but I have been racing for only like 7 years.

8: What do you think about when you run?
Usually how I would do if race day was now.   I religiously check my Garmin and multiply the current pace out in different scenarios. Sounds super lame... probably is...  BUT at least I don't let the stresses in life get to me while I'm running.  Somehow I only think happy thoughts once I'm out there!

9: Do you run when you’re emotional?

10: Have you noticed any changes in your life since you started running?
Yes.  If you run you get it, if you don't run you think I'm weird, but I don't know what I would do without it.  Running contributes to a having a great day and overall quality of life, especially when you get to run outdoors and appreciate how gorgeous everything is.  It's the only time to be alone and not multi-task, to relax, and jam out to tunes.

11: Do you stretch?
Yes.  Warm up mile/s then dynamic stretches, then I stretch when I'm all done.

12: Do you plan your day around your run or your run around your day?
Kind of both.

13: Do you run with someone else?
Used to run with the husband but we haven't for awhile, mostly because we only have a single BOB.  I would like to find some evening runners around here, everyone runs in the a.m.!, but my long runs I prefer alone.  In the zone.

14: What motivates you to run?
Seeing progress, getting PRs, the fitness aspect of it and being able to eat what I want.  :)

15: Are you surprised with how well you run?
No. I wish. lol

16: Do you run marathons/races/both?
I am not sure a runner wrote these questions.  hahaha

17: What’s your best mile time?
I haven't done a mile time in years!  Last time I did, the time I got was slower than some of the miles I've run in races, so...

18: Do you run to keep fit or keep fit to run?

19: Do you prefer to run in heat or in cold?
Cold.  I hate the cold, UNLESS I'm running.  We're talking <50 degrees and my running is highly improved.  40 would be the perfect temp.

20: Is it hard for you to get out of the house to run?
Not really

21: Do you ever regret not running?

22: Do you keep a record of your running times?
Too many

23: Do you have a running idol?
Mostly the Olympians:  Meb, Kara, Shalane

24: Does anyone else in your family run?
My whole family except my mom who plays pickleball.

25: Are you currently trying to become a better runner?

26: Do you run when you have nothing else to do?
I would but when do I have nothing else to do?  I am a mom.  I even started this questionnaire like five months ago.  :D

27: How often do you run?
4-5x week + 1-2XT

28: What is your biggest running-related dream?
well...winning for one thing, then both Ben and I getting our BQs and running Boston together.

29: Will you run for the rest of your life or just until you become what you want?
For - ev - er

30: What are your favorite exercises to team with running?
Classes that have loud and fun music or are CrossFIT type workouts.
