6+ Weeks to NYC Marathon!

We leave in six weeks to go to the Big Apple!!  I am excited, if you can't tell.  I talk about the trip all the time, and how excited I am to go with my favorite man for some "us" time, then run with tens of thousands of our best friends through the awesomest city.  :)

Kind of like last year at the Chicago Marathon.  SO FUN.

The weather hasn't really cooled down much here until the last couple of days, but I think we're finally starting to see glimpses of FALL, and it's exciting.  I had a 17 miler a couple of weeks ago and started at 4:30 in the morning with my friend (who is training for Chicago), and it was 93 degrees.  lol  hashtag GARBAGE

I logged 170 miles in August!  I think I might be a little less this month.  I missed a few miles over my hamstring, but other than that, we're still trucking along.  Ben is already up to 1200ish miles for the year, and I am about 1000 in.  It may be our highest mileage year ever!
Right now our goals are loosely 3:30 (Ben) & any 8:xx pace for meNYC is hilly, the first mile is entirely UP, but I still think I can take advantage of the down hills and settle into a zone 2 effort pace otherwise, which is usually around an 8:45.  Mostly we want to enjoy the race though, remember it, and have fun!

Still deciding on shirts.  I may go with race colors, like blue?

I want to decide after NYC, but I am considering racing Mesa-Phoenix 26.2 in February.  I have to decide if I'm ready to ride that pain train, and then I have to stay healthy between now and then.  And all that can be stressful!  But I also will not be happy until I get a do-over from my DNF.
